Virtual Events at The Women’s Library

Celebration of Women’s Films

The Women’s Library Film Club, originally set up for our members, has been a fantastic success so we have decided to open it up to supporters as well as members. Each fortnight, Annaliese Legge, Committee Member and Volunteer Coordinator at The Women’s Library, selects a film that has been creatively influenced by women producers, directors, or writers (and often all of these) for us to watch and discuss. All films are available on Australian free-to-air television.

Here’s how it works:

  • You sign up to join the film club
  • We add your name to the mailing list and WhatsApp group
  • You watch the film any time before the Sunday discussion
  • We send you a link to the discussion group
  • You join the discussion on Sunday at 18:00

Watch the film any time during the week and then join the discussion that starts at 18:00 on Sunday evening. Register now on this form and we will send you details about how to join the discussion sessions using Zoom on your phone or computer.

To enjoy most of the selected films, you will have to sign up as a subscriber on the SBS on Demand website.

To take part in the discussion, you will have to use Zoom on your PC, tablet, or phone. You can use Zoom without having a Zoom account, but you should allow time to download the program before the discussion if you are not already using Zoom.

Feminist Classics Book Club

Our next planned series of virtual events is a Book Club where we will be discussing feminist classics. More details here.
