This is a free event. Everyone is welcome, please register so we can get an idea of numbers.

We have a fabulous afternoon planned with memorabilia displays, delicious nibbles and a glass (or two) of bubbly. The Mooncatchers Choir will be performing during the celebration.

We’re proud to acknowledge all who got us here to 2024: the founders, original supporters, and the hundreds of workers and volunteers who have staffed the place for 30 years. This is a remarkable achievement well worth celebrating.

The Women’s Library first opened for lending in 1994, in the former Alexandria Town Hall. This was under the auspices of the old South Sydney Council, who then offered the refurbished Brown Street premises (1997) where the Library is today, a provision continued by the City of Sydney after the council amalgamation of 2004.

A big thank you to the City of Sydney for continuing to provide our premises as part of their ongoing support of women and community, and the NSW Government which has provided funds for our recent makeover. The place has never looked better.
