The Women’s Libray is in the inner-Sydney suburb of Newtown, which is well served by public transport and is a great place for eating out and shopping, as well as reading at The Women’s Library. If you are unable to visit, our monthly virtual film club and book club discussions are a great way to stay connected.
To apply for individual membership, please complete the Application Form, upload a photo or scan of your government-issued ID, and pay the fee online. Use the Contact Us page if you wish to make an enquiry about group membership.
The Women’s Library is a not-for-profit community-based organisation, and membership fees help pay for operating costs. Annual membership covers November – October, and fees remain at $20 for general members or $5.50 if you are unable to pay the full fee.
The Library has a carefully selected collection of books, periodicals, and DVDs of interest to women, and our community space is available to women’s groups for meetings, workshops, and other activities. Being a member of The Women’s Library gives you access to all sorts of books you might not find in your local library. We have a substantial collection of feminist literature and lesbian fiction, as well as every genre imaginable where women are active as writers and publishers.
Members are invited to our annual end-of year celebration and the opening of Arts Events, such as the Herland exhibition.
