Space Hire

The Women’s Library provides space for women’s groups to meet at a minimal charge. The space is available on Monday and Friday, and outside normal operating hours (generally after 4:00pm) on other days. A slot may be booked on a monthly, fortnightly, weekly, or one-off basis.

The space may be booked for private group meetings or for workshops and social group activities that are open to the public. Preference is given to community groups and not-for-profit organisations. In the case of private groups, it is up to the group convenor to manage attendance. For open activities, The Women’s Library can assist with promotion by sharing the information with our members and supporters, and managing bookings if required.

Booking Requests

The first step to initiate a booking enquiry is to complete the New Group Activity Request form. All requests are submitted to the management committee for consideration once we have all necessary details. We will contact you via email to discuss the conditions and arrange payment.

Fees

As the Women’s Library is a membership association, those who wish to use our space for group activities are asked to take out a group membership. Groups typically meet weekly, fortnightly, or monthly and our pricing reflects these frequencies.

  • $90/annum for a group that uses the library once a month
  • $140/annum for a group that uses the library fortnightly
  • $220/annum for a group that uses the library weekly
  • $50/annum for a group that uses the library quarterly or bimonthly

For a one-off booking, the fee is $50. Other arrangements can be made by mutual agreement.

Facilities

Facilities at the library include a small kitchen, fridge, and an accessible toilet. The comfortable lounge area is suitable for social groups. Two folding tables, additional seating, a whiteboard, and flipchart are also available for groups to use.
