The workshop will be held at The Women’s Library during July and August. Sessions are two hours each and include a nearby field trip to examine a special crime scene. Pearlie will cover a good mix of analysis, technique, plot and character, sprinkled with fun and the odd dash of wicked laughter, served up with a practical, hands-on approach.

The workshop leader, Pearlie McNeill, has been widely published since 1979 when her first radio play was broadcast on the ABC. She won The Wirra Wirra-Wakefield Press Award at the 1998 Adelaide Writers’ Festival, for her novel Counting the Rivers published the same year. She is an experienced writer, editor and tutor who has been teaching Creative Writing in universities, polytechnics and community colleges for more than three decades.

No previous detection experience necessary but do bring your devilish imagination, plus a lively interest in the genre, and watch your confidence grow.
