For Love or Money casts a female view on Australian history since colonisation. Narrated by Noni Hazelhurst, it tells the story of women, work, and resistance through decades of poorly paid, mind-numbing toil in domestic, commercial, and agricultural settings, factories, and secretarial pools.

For Love or Money is a superbly crafted feature documentary … a celebration of women’s courage, resilience and humour. The film chronicles the extraordinary cycles of women’s gains and losses as they are moved in and out of the workforce according to the demands of the time. It reveals how women’s unpaid and voluntary work keeps an entire system running smoothly, in peacetime and in war.” Screen Australia
